
Let's quote our tender task: “Creation of a gift edition for PUMB VIP clients”. Edition type – book, A5 format. Artistic design is a stylistic continuation of the previous two editions from the collection. Language – Ukrainian. Topic – travel. We analyzed, brainstormed and offered a solution for the client.
After the client approved the general concept of the book, we got to work. Regarding text, we settled on the following format – small articles with the most useful information, as they say, without the fluff. We take into account that people trust people. This formula is proven by the huge number of followers of world-famous bloggers. Therefore, it is better if the text is copyrighted. After receiving positive feedback from the bank, they asked the sensational writer, travel expert Irena Karpa to tell about her favorite places and vivid life stories.
As she writes: “... the only thing I believe in is the fresh gossip of travelers and the expertise of locals”. And the advice of an expert, the best sommelier of Ukraine in 2017, Ivan Percheklii, on the consumption of drinks helps to easily “travel” among the subtleties of winemaking in each region, learn more about grape varieties and better understand wine brands. The edition was planned as premium, so we paid a lot of attention to aesthetics when working on book design: high-quality thematic photos, the texture of the cover material (soft touch protective film, very pleasant to the touch, silver embossing, calm milky yellow paper). Bright thematic icons were specially developed for this edition. They are a very valuable tool for the designer, because they give a sense of orderliness to the presentation of the material and at the same time attract the reader’s attention. The book should be understandable to travelers, have a convenient size that allows you to take it on a trip. Books from the corporate library are often used in trade marketing activities: they are given as gifts, played among subscribers on the company's pages in social networks, awarded, etc. For example, the Facebook community of the PUMB bank had the opportunity to win one of 20 books by tagging a person with whom they would like to share a future trip in a comment.
