In January 2022, the publishing house Burda Media Ukraine became a member of the UN Global Compact. We planned to issue this release on February 24th.
After months dedicated to preserving the team, we are returning to our commitments. We shall adhere to the Ten Principles of the Global Compact in three areas: ensuring the transition to rational patterns of consumption and production, ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for all at any age, ensuring gender equality, and empowering all women and girls.
Burda Media Ukraine is the largest media holding with more than 23 years of media expertise, comprising 6 business units for the development of media products and marketing solutions.
The monthly audience of the holding's publications is 3.5 million people. From now on, the company is implementing a sustainable policy and trying to reduce the indicators of the carbon footprint from production and improve indicators of climate change. With this vision, Burda Media Ukraine is the first publishing house in the country to sign the UN Global Compact, resulting in a sustainable development strategy in the media company. These significant changes continue global sustainable initiatives already inevitable in the world context.
The company is operating since 1997 and currently has 105 employees throughout Ukraine. And all these years, Burda Media Ukraine has been trying to promote the ideas embodied in the UN Global Compact, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, disseminateing knowledge and information about gender equality on the Lisa and Marie Claire resources, about a healthy lifestyle and children's health on the My Child resource.
Some separate Sustainable sections were made on the resources of Burda Media Ukraine to spread knowledge about sustainable development in various areas, meet the goals of the UN and consider the issues of sustainable development in Ukraine and abroad from different angles.
